Director of Retail Operations

PEOPLE’S Director of Retail Operations will be responsible for streamlining retail functions at the flagship location, as well as a new locations. The Director of Retail Operations will be responsible for overseeing a large number of retail staff, increasing operational output, developing a customer retention program, and creating meaningful metrics around performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop clear cross-functional business processes that enable efficient, simplified ways of working in order to streamline retail functions
  • Source and implement the best technology and equipment to streamline retail operations
  • Reinforce the existing company culture and ensure brand consistency across all retail locations
  • Collaborate with retail management teams and assist departments with the implementation plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the organization
  • Create and implement marketing and sales campaigns to encourage customer engagement
  • Manage, supervise and direct the activities of the dispensary teams; Regularly train staff according to company guidelines; Implement dispensary policies and ensure staff follows best practices; Set sales, service, and profit goals and lead staff to exceed them
  • Create effective organization and information gathering for all inventory regarding special patient orders, employee patient samples and weekly deals
  • Track various sales metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Ensure the dispensaries remains compliant with security, inventory and local and state regulations; Prepare staff to effectively lead state inspectors through unannounced inspections
  • Maintain records for all necessary documents: delivery and inventory manifests, nightly and monthly inventory counts, necessary employee and patient/customer information, logbooks, inventory adjustments and destruction reports
  • Review performance of other dispensary employees on a regular basis
  • Oversee all hiring, discipline, termination or advancement of employees
  • Occasional travel between retail facilities

Qualifications

  • Experience working with small, start-up companies
  • 5+ years of experience as a Director of Retail Operations or an equivalent position
  • Exceptional change management and leadership skills
  • Strong project management and implementation skills – must be hands-on
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Ability to implement SOPs and ERP software to improve business functions
  • Self-sufficient and creative leadership approach
  • Analytical thinker
  • Ability to recognize pain points and implement actions that lead to company growth
  • Build consensus among conflicting points of view through active discussion
  • Advance organizational stability through change and risk management
  • In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles
